CONDITIONS OF PLAY: The Competition will be played under the rules of golf as approved by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, The SAGA, the bylaws and the local rules as approved By the North West Golf Union.
HANDICAP LIMIT: Open to amateurs who are members of a golf club affiliated to the North West Golf Union and who have a handicap of a (six) or less as assessed in Terms of the S.A.G.A. Course Rating and Handicapping System as acceptable to the S.A.G.A.
ENTRIES: Entries will be limited to 96 players. Should more than 96 entries be received,
the Committee will have the right to eliminate the higher handicapped entrants by ballot. The decision of the N.W.G.U. as to acceptance or refusal of an entry shall be final. The N.W.G.U. reserves the right to grant other exemptions. Entries must either be submitted via the website www.nwgu.co.za or via fax to 086 611 0426
FORM OF COMPETITION: The Competition will be played over 36 holes Stroke play on Sunday, 4th February 2018.
ENTRY FORM: Obtainable from the Secretary of the North West Golf Union or affiliated clubs.
ENTRANCE FEE: R400.00 (Four Hundred Rand) which must accompany the Entry Form and includes playing fees and lunch.
CLOSING DATE: Entries close at noon on Monday, 29th January 2018. Late entries will not be accepted.
TIES: In the event of a tie for the Championship a play-off will be held over a certain number of holes as decided by the tournament committee.
DRAW AND STARTING: The draw will be conducted by the North West Golf Union. Any competitor who is absent from the tee when called upon to start will be liable to disqualification or penalty under Rule 6.3. Copies of the draw will be published on our website www.nwgu.co.za.
DECISIONS: Decisions and disputes of any kind will be dealt with by the North West tournament
Committee and their ruling will be final. The courtesy of the course of Klerksdorp Golf Club has been extended to entrants for practise during the week preceding the tournament. Subject to consent of the Club Manager.
EXEMPTION OF The Union and its management will not be held responsible or held liable for any damage loss,
LIABILITY: including personal and or other forms of loss, harm or injury sustained as stipulated below.
1. Physical and/or emotional injuries suffered during the Tournament/Championship due to any acts Of God, suffered as a direct result thereof, including aspects such as being struck by lightning, ect.
2. Physical injuries of any kind suffered by any person, including a player or spectator sustained by own negligence, or otherwise.
3. Emotional injuries sustained by any loss, including death, suffered as a result of any of the above injuries sustained personally or by a spectator.
4. Damage suffered to any property of a player
The player acknowledges the exemption of liability of the Union and its management as listed above when he signs the acknowledgement and also acknowledges the contents of the above, understands it and exempts the Union from any liability as indicated above.
